The Penguins (28-9-2-3) swept the four-game season series with the Moose (22-15-5-4), winning twice in regulation, once in overtime and once in a shootout. Filewich scored the eventual game-winner on a 5-on-3 advantage with 14:44 left. He scooped the centring pass from Marc-Antoine Pouliot past goalie Julien Ellis.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's Connor James added an empty-net goal with 6.7 seconds left.
The Penguins took a 2-1 lead in the first period on goals by Jean-Francois Jacques and Daniel Carcillo. Jacques took a pass from Kurtis McLean in the slot and scored into the top corner in the first five minutes. Carcillo stickhandled out of the right-wing corner and beat Ellis with a wrist shot at 15:19.
Manitoba's Brandon Reid took a cross-ice pass from Jannik Hansen and lifted a shot past goalie Andrew Penner for a 1-1 tie. The Moose tied the score again early in the third period when a Prestin Ryan shot from the blue-line deflected past Penner to make it 2-2.
