The Bakersfield Condors aren’t done having fun in the ECHL just yet. On Sunday, the team will suit up in 50 Shades of Grey jerseys when they take on the Alaska Aces. The jerseys feature handcuffs, masks, and, yes, there are 50 shades of grey.

It feels like it has been said a thousand times, but there really isn’t a team in hockey that has as much fun as the Bakersfield Condors. On Sunday, Feb. 15, the team will don
50 Shades of Grey themed jerseys to coincide with the release of the film. The jerseys – which, yes, have 50 actual shades of grey – feature themes from the series, including a necktie, handcuffs, masquerade masks and the outlines of each book in the trilogy.

50 Shades body Though the jerseys are the star of the show, leave it to the Condors to go all out. The threads are being tied into the
Undie Sunday game, an outing in which fans are asked to throw new undergarments onto the ice to be donated to local charities. In addition, with a ticket stub from the movie’s opening weekend, fans can get 2-for-1 admission. Bakersfield’s press release is also outstanding, citing the Condors hope to “whip” the visiting Alaska Aces on Sunday and “dominate” the game, adding that they had more interesting jersey designs that were (sadly) rejected. We can only imagine. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game with all proceeds going to Kern Adult Literacy Council, an organization that helps adults learn skills like reading and writing, provides English second language programs and general education development studies.
