Last night’s two games were highlighted by turnovers leading to goals, culminating in two shootouts, with the Ducks beating the Coyotes and the Jets defeating the Blues. Catch up on what you missed here: Essential Water Cooler  From the moment the league confirmed the media reports that the NHL was returning the Winnipeg, there were mixed reactions from fans and media below the border. What if it doesn’t work? Why would the fan support be any different now than it was two decades ago? But after two years of (re)-existence, the fans are packing the MTS Centre and are as loud as they were on opening night in October 2011. This was evident last night against the Blues, where the atmosphere was raucous, to say the least. The fan support is there, and the team has the pieces in place to succeed in the upcoming years. Alexander Steen, St. Louis – He scored twice in the game and once in the shootout, but his team fell short to the Jets. 2. Jonas Hiller, Anaheim – He made 30 saves and held the Coyotes off in the shootout to give the Ducks the win. His save percentage was .938. 3. Mike Smith, Phoenix – In a battle of the goaltenders on the West Coast, Smith saved 37 Anaheim shots, and was one shootout goal away from victory. His save percentage was .949. Better Luck Next Time Going for a hit on Jordan Leopold, Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba’s skate got caught in the ice, launching him headfirst into the boards. A bad luck moment for Trouba, who got carried off the ice in a stretcher. Fortunately, Trouba was released from the hospital and was in good spirits after the game, tweeting the following:
