Edmonton got outshined by the Stars and the Leafs were left feelin' Minnesota by the Wild in our morning recap.

Essential Water Cooler

What do you do with a problem like the Oilers? Edmonton was shut out by Dallas 3-0 last night, making it the third straight home outing in which the Oilers were unable to put a single tally on the board. If this team had anything, we thought it was offense, but the young No. 1s are drying up like raisins. Meanwhile, the defense was bad on a night when Devan Dubnyk was good in net. So where do the Oilers go from here, other than back to the draft lottery this summer?

Primetime Play

Empty-net goals don't get much nicer than this effort by Tyler Seguin, who put the stake through Edmonton's heart off a Taylor Hall turnover.

Men of the Night

Brayden Schenn, Philadelphia: The Flyers are beginning to right the ship and a 2-1 victory over archrival Pittsburgh kept the train going. Schenn the Younger had both goals for Philly.

Josh Harding, Minnesota: After Toronto's Nazem Kadri freight-trained starter Niklas Backstrom early, Harding came in and guided his team to a 2-1 shootout win. Reportedly under the weather, Harding blanked the always dangerous Mason Raymond and Phil Kessel in the skills competition.

Kari Lehtonen, Dallas: The big Finn continued his recent dominance over Edmonton, stopping 22 shots to earn the goose egg.

Better Luck Next Time

Leafs coach Randy Carlyle likes physical play, but Nazem Kadri may have been a little too eager. Not only did he get a minor penalty for his hit on Backstrom in the crease, but he also got five and a game for a high shot on Mikael Granlund and may get a call from Brendan Shanahan as a result. Seven minutes of penalty-killing certainly didn't help Toronto's offense get on track.
