The Leafs continue their romp through Western Canada, while Los Angeles took state bragging rights away from San Jose in our morning recap.

Catch up with last night's action in our morning recap.

Essential Water Cooler

The San Jose Sharks have a great confidence right now and when you're one of the best teams in the NHL, it's not surprising. But their old rivals from the south dealt Los Tiburones a setback when Los Angeles beat them 4-3 in overtime last night. This was a potential playoff matchup for the Sharks, who have disappointed in the past. Should San Jose fans be worried if the Kings give their boys fits during the regular season?

Primetime Play

Pittsburgh's Chris Kunitz was Johnny-on-the-spot with this sweet goal in the Pens' 3-2 victory over the Bruins:

Men of the Night

Jonathan Bernier, Toronto: The French-Canadian side of Toronto's dynamic goaltending duo spun some more magic against the Flames, making 41 saves in a 4-2 win at Calgary.

Anze Kopitar, Los Angeles: The big Slovenian set up Justin Williams' game-tying goal in the third period, then won the whole dang thing in overtime for the Kings.

Tomas Tatar, Detroit: In a tight game against the Canucks, the youngster put the Wings up for good with his goal late in the second period.

Pascal Dupuis, Pittsburgh: Now here's a hockey player. After taking a stick in the mouth from teammate Kris Letang, Dupuis went to the bench and yanked his own teeth out. Atta boy, Pascal.

Better Luck Next Time

Ask a goalie about his pet peeves and surely one of the first will be when his own defenseman screens him. Vancouver's Chris Tanev probably owes Roberto Luongo a steak dinner after pulling a friendly-fire Tomas Holmstrom impression in the loss to Detroit.
