Devils legend Patrik Elias has been one of New Jersey's most dependable stars – and Tuesday against the Sabres, the 38-year-old reached not one, but two major individual milestones.

New Jersey Devils cornerstone winger Patrik Elias is nearing the end of his legendary NHL career, but when you do all he's done and stick around as long as the 38-year-old has, the games at the end of your career bring regular reminders of your impact all along the way. Tuesday night against the Buffalo Sabres was one of those games for Elias, who scored once and added two assists – while reaching two major individual offensive milestones – in his team's 4-1 win. The first milestone of Elias' evening came when he registered the 600th assist of his career (becoming the 80th player in league history to do so) on a first-period shorthanded goal by Travis Zajac: The assist was Elias' 999th career NHL point, and point No. 1,000 came for him at the end of the night, when he assisted on Mike Cammalleri's empty-net goal. After the game, the Devils gathered the two pucks and stick Elias used to set the milestones for a picture posted on Twitter: Elias is the 82nd player in league history to amass 1,000 points. And his next milestone game won't be far away; this first period goal he scored against the Sabres gave him 399 career regular-season markers:
