NY Islanders (10-18-3) at Minnesota (15-13-2), 8:00 pm EST

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (Ticker) -- The New York Islanders finally
picked up their first point of December. Now, they looking for
a win.

The Islanders will look to snap a seven-game losing streak
Friday when they face the Minnesota Wild, who have lost six in a
row.

Andy Sutton and Jon Sim scored in the third period to erase a
two-goal deficit, but New York still lost the Washington
Capitals, 5-4, in overtime on Tuesday.

The Islanders are in the midst of a 1-8-1 stretch and continue
to lose ground in the Atlantic Division. New York already is in
danger of finish last in the division for the second straight
season.

The Wild haven't been much better, going 1-6-1 over their last
eight. Marian Gaborik and Andrew Brunette each had a goal and
assist Wednesday, but Minnesota still suffered a 3-2 overtime
loss to the Calgary Flames.

A playoff team last season, the Wild are in better shape than
New York.

Minnesota is still in the thick of the Western Conference
playoff race, sitting in third place of the Northwest Division.
