Adam Peleshaty, Stonewall, Man.

I would like to congratulate the Denmark men's hockey team for reaching the quarterfinals at the World Championship for the first time in their history.

While they did lose to Sweden, this is a great result for a team that is steadily on the rise. Twenty years ago, they were in the C pool, playing teams such as Australia, South Korea and South Africa.

Now, they have avoided the trend of lesser hockey countries; reaching the WHC one year and being relegated the next.

Also, they are exporting young talent such as Jannik Hansen and Peter Regin to the NHL as well as producing two first-round draft picks (Lars Eller and Mikkel Boedker). I look forward to watching this team in future international hockey competitions and watching some of their players in the NHL.
