The Los Angeles Kings have placed defenseman Jack Johnson on the injured reserve list with a shoulder injury.

Johnson, 21, was injured in the first period of the Kings-San Jose game Sunday night.  He is expected to be out of action two to three months because of the injury.

The 6-foor-1, 225-pound native of Indianapolis, Indiana has appeared in 81 career NHL regular season games – all with the Kings - and has three goals and 11 points to go with 96 career penalty minutes.

Johnson was originally selected by Carolina in the first round (third overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.  He was acquired by the Kings on Sept. 29, 2006 along with Oleg Tverdovsky for Eric Belanger and Tim Gleason.
