Mike Hoffman and Shay Stephenson, whose shorthanded goal with 4:35 remaining in regulation sealed the win, also scored for Manchester (6-5-2-1). Marc Moro and Erik Westrum replied for Toronto (5-9-1), which trailed 1-0 and 3-1 at the intermissions.

Monarchs goalie Jason LaBarbera blocked 37 shots, while Jean-Francois Racine made 33 saves for Toronto.

Manchester scored once on six power-play chances, while the Marlies failed to convert any of their six power-play opportunities.
