SAN JOSE, Calif. - Dan Boyle scored the go-ahead goal and Evgeni Nabokov made 16 saves as the San Jose Sharks beat the Anaheim Ducks 5-2 in a pre-season game on Friday night.

Boyle, the high-scoring defenceman who was the Sharks' main off-season acquisition, scored 33 seconds into the third period. Mike Moore, Alexei Semenov and Jamie McGinn also scored in San Jose's four-goal period.

It was the Sharks' first win under new head coach Todd McLellan, who was an assistant coach last season with the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings. McLellan replaced Ron Wilson, who guided San Jose to the league's second-best record behind Detroit before losing in the second round of the playoffs for the third straight year.

Andrew Ebbett scored the first goal for the Ducks (1-1) on a power play with less than a second left in the first period to tie the game. George Parros added the Ducks' second goal in the third.

The Sharks (1-1) opened the scoring when Joe Pavelski tipped in a loose puck for his first goal of the pre-season on a power play through goalie Jonas Hiller with 16:04 left in the first.

In their first pre-season game, which the Sharks lost 6-4 to the Ducks, there were six majors called for fighting. Two more majors for fighting were added on Friday when the Sharks' Jody Shelley tangled with Parros in the first and the Ducks' Travis Moen went against Moore in the second.

The only Anaheim veterans who played were Todd Marchant, Chris Pronger and Rob Niedermayer. The game was the first of three straight for the Ducks, who travel to Phoenix on Saturday and host Vancouver on Sunday.

Earlier Friday, Anaheim traded defenceman Mathieu Schneider to Atlanta for journeymen Ken Klee and Brad Larsen and prospect Chad Painchaud so they could get under the salary cap and sign veteran right wing Teemu Selanne.
