1. Nashville Predators. The best team in the league right now can't draw at home.

2. Anaheim Ducks. Chris Pronger has been dearly missed.

3. Buffalo Sabres. Jason Pominville the quietest 20-goal scorer in the NHL.

4. Detroit Red Wings. An amazing 16-3-3 at the Joe. Up next, Nashville on Wednesday.

5. San Jose Sharks. Third in goals against and eighth in goals for, not a bad combo.

6. New Jersey Devils. Stingiest team in the NHL - again.

7. Ottawa Senators. Scoring by the bucket full without Jason Spezza or Mike Fisher!

8. Montreal Canadiens. Slumping since Christmas.

9. Vancouver Canucks. The Sedin twins played well enough to earn an all-star nomination.

10. Calgary Flames. Sixth in the NHL in goals per game.

11. Atlanta Thrashers. Will look for a centre before the trade deadline.

12. Carolina Hurricanes. Watch out when the Cup champs get healthy.

13. Minnesota Wild. Big road wins in Vancouver and Edmonton last week.

14. Dallas Stars. Crushing injuries to key players.

15. Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bolts are smoking hot in January.

16. New York Rangers. Smart call by banged-up Jaromir Jagr to skip the all-star game.

17. Edmonton Oilers. Where's all the offence?

18. Boston Bruins. Can they finish off the home-and-home sweep of Buffalo on Wednesday night?

19. Pittsburgh Penguins. Nils Ekman has been a disappointment.

20. Colorado Avalanche. Miserable 28th in the NHL on the PK.

21. Toronto Maple Leafs. Win one, lose one, win one, lose one, etc.

22. Phoenix Coyotes. Big win over St. Louis after cooling off for a few days.

23. Florida Panthers. Star winger Todd Bertuzzi should be back sometime in February.

24. Washington Capitals. Can the Caps stop the fade?

25. New York Islanders. GM Garth Snow trying to upgrade the offence.

26. St. Louis Blues. Free hotdogs meant a big crowd last weekend. Finally.

27. Chicago Blackhawks. The Hawks should have bigger things to worry about than video review.

28. Los Angeles Kings. GM Dean Lombardi may blow this baby up soon.

29. Columbus Blue Jackets. Another frustrating year for Rick Nash.

30. Philadelphia Flyers. Credit Flyers fans for still going to games.
