The Union College product has appeared in 131 career NHL games over three seasons split between the Flames and Rangers scoring 17 goals and 39 points.

The Arizona Coyotes continued to add depth to its forward group on Sunday claiming Josh Jooris off waivers from the New York Rangers.

Jooris appeared in 12 games with the Rangers scoring a goal and adding one assist while averaging 8:36 a night in ice time.

"Josh is a versatile, right shot forward that provides optionality for our coaching staff," General Manager John Chayka said per the Arizona Republic." He creates depth for our organization, and we're excited to see what he can do with the opportunity."

The acquisition is the second made by the Coyotes in three days after learning forward Max Domi would be out week-to-week with an upper body injury.

On Friday, Arizona traded a conditional 2018 draft pick to the Maple Leafs in exchange for center Peter Holland. The 25-year-old former first-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks has yet to join Coyotes as he continues to sort out visa issues.

To make room on the roster for Jooris, the Coyotes sent Tyler Gaudet to the American Hockey League’s Tucson Roadrunners.

After attending camps with the Boston Bruins (2011) and Vancouver Canucks (2012), Jooris turned his camp invite with the Calgary Flames into a contract in 2013.

Arizona returns to action on Monday when they open a four-game road trip in Pittsburgh.
