As first reported by THN.com, the Washington Capitals and right winger Eric Fehr avoided arbitration when Fehr signed a two-year deal with the Capitals Thursday worth $4.4 million.

Fehr, who had career highs of 21 goals and 39 points in 69 games in 2009-10, made $772,000, which means he received almost a 200 percent raise on his previous salary.

The Capitals also avoided arbitration by signing defenseman Jeff Schultz to a four-year deal worth $11 million Wednesday, meaning winger Tomas Fleischmann is the only Capitals restricted free agent who filed for arbitration still to sign.
