PENTICTON, B.C. - The Vancouver Canucks will hold their training camp in the Okanagan community of Penticton, B.C., beginning Sept. 18, the NHL team said Wednesday.

Prior to camp, the Canucks will host a young stars tournament which will feature prospects from Vancouver, the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks.

The eight-game, round-robin tournament will be from Sept. 12-16.

Mike Gillis, the Canucks president and general manager, said Penticton has a deep hockey history.

"Our organization is very fortunate to have tremendous support from fans across the province and we are pleased to be able to bring our team to an area where people might not otherwise have the chance to see the Canucks play live,'' Gillis said in a statement.

In the past the Canucks have held training camp in British Columbia cities like Victoria, Courtenay, Powell River, Duncan, Parksville, Kamloops, Vernon and Whistler.

The team travelled to Stockholm, Sweden, in 2000. During the Canucks' first four years in the NHL the team held training camp in Calgary and Medicine Hat, Alta.
