MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens have signed 2014 first round pick Nikita Scherbak to a three-year entry-level contract.

The six-foot-two, 189-pound forward had 78 points (28 goals, 50 assists) in 65 regular-season games with the Western Hockey League's Saskatoon Blades last season.
