Cam Talbot has worn a few Ghostbusters masks in his day, but none better than his newest for the 2014-15 season. Talbot channels one of the movie's most iconic characters into what might be the best mask in the league.
He’s big, he’s well padded, and you can find him in goal for the New York Rangers. We’re not talking about Henrik Lundqvist or Cam Talbot, either. No, it’s the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. During last night’s 4-3 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues, Rangers goaltender Cam Talbot debuted the fifth in his series of Ghostbusters themed masks:
He ain’t afraid of no goals. Painted by David Gunnarsson of DaveArt, the idea for the mask came to Gunnarsson on “an early summer morning,” he wrote, continuing on that he saved the mask idea and waited for the opportunity to show it off to Talbot. The Ghostbusters masks have been somewhat of a tradition for the young goaltender. Previously, Talbot has worn a Ghostbusters masks featuring the characters
Ecto-1 ghostmobile, and baseball playing
characters from the film for the Stadium Series. A new mask was in order for Talbot, who had last season’s version signed by Bill Murray and other members of the cast.
