Former Boston Bruins tough guy Stan Jonathan will face a trial stemming from a hunting incident on Six Nations land in 2012.
According to wire reports, 29-year-old bowhunter Peter Kosid was killed by a single bullet to the back from a deerhunter. Jonathan, now 59, has been charged with criminal negligence causing death and careless use of a firearm. His next court date is Nov. 20.
A fearsome fighter during his playing days, Jonathan was part of the Big, Bad Bruins of the 1970s and scored 20 goals twice in his career. Never the biggest guy on the ice at 5-foot-8, the left winger nonetheless made an impact in his NHL career (Bob Probert once described rival Tie Domi as a "Stan Jonathan type" of fighter).
