BOSTON - The Boston Bruins hope that some of Stephane Yelle's past experience pays off for them in the future.
The Bruins signed the two-time Stanley Cup winner to a contract on Wednesday.
Yelle spent the past five seasons with the Calgary Flames after playing his first seven years in Colorado. The 34-year-old has appeared in 154 playoff games for those teams, winning the Stanley Cup with the Avs in 1996 and 2001 and falling one game short with the Flames in 2004.
Boston has advanced past the first round of the playoffs just once since 1995, the year Yelle's career started.
In 844 career regular-season games, the veteran centre has 85 goals and 239 points.
