The Chicago Blackhawks have announced Patrick Kane is expected to be in attendance when the team opens training camp Friday at University of Notre Dame. Kane, 26, is currently under police investigation following an incident at him home in Hamburg, N.Y.

When the Chicago Blackhawks’ training camp opens, it is expected Patrick Kane will be in attendance.

Kane, 26, is listed among the group of forwards who are scheduled to appear at the Blackhawks’ camp when it opens Friday. According to the Chicago Tribune’s Chris Kuc, it was then confirmed by the organization that Kane is expected to hit the ice with his teammates when the camp begins at University of Notre Dame.

Whether Kane would be at training camp has been one of the biggest questions surrounding the Blackhawks over the past few weeks following news that Kane was the subject of an investigation by police near his hometown of Buffalo. The investigation is the result of an incident that took place at Kane’s Hamburg, N.Y., residence.

Kane has not been charged with a crime.

A grand jury was expected to begin reviewing the case Sept. 8, but the proceedings were postponed and have been rescheduled. When the case is set to go before a grand jury has not been announced.

The Blackhawks had been hush about Kane’s status leading up to training camp, and today’s roster release is the first time the team has addressed whether or not their all-star right winger would be in attendance. Wednesday's roster release is the first indication that Kane will be joining teammates at camp and it's possible he could hit the ice at early at 10 a.m. Friday with Team A.

Kane is in the first year of an eight-year, $84-million pact with the Blackhawks, which includes a no-movement clause. In 2014-15, Kane scored 27 goals and 64 points in 61 games and notched an additional 11 goals and 23 points in 23 post-season games, en route to the Blackhawks’ third Stanley Cup championship in six seasons.
