The Binghamton Senators beat the Houston Aeros 3-2 in Game 6 Tuesday to win their first AHL Calder Cup.

The Ottawa Senators farmhands, led by goalie Robin Lehner, won the clinching game on the road. Lehner turned aside 34 shots, while Bobby Butler and Ryan Keller scored power play goals in the third to lift the Senators to the lead after they trailed 2-1 through two periods.

Lehner was spectacular through the playoffs after entering the lineup in Game 5 of Binghamton's first round series. Overall, Lehner was 14-4 with a 2.10 GAA and .939 SP and earned the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the most valuable player of the Calder Cup playoffs.

The Senators finished the playoffs on a 15-4 run after trailing their opening round series against Manchester 3-1. The team set an AHL record for road wins in a post-season with 10 and won the last three games of the final against Houston.

With a 42-30-3-5 record, the Senators finished fifth in their division and only qualified for the playoffs because of the AHL's crossover rule.
