DENVER - Colorado Avalanche defenceman defenceman Kyle Quincey will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder, the team announced Sunday.
"This is the best course of action for Kyle and his future," Avalanche team physician Andrew Parker said in a statement. "After physical and diagnostic tests, the decision has been made to repair his shoulder at this time."
Quincey, 25, suffered the injury on Dec. 11 at Washington when he lost his balance and slid hard into the boards. He was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 13.
Quincey missed five games earlier in the season because of a concussion.
The Kitchener, Ont., native had one assist in 21 games this season.
