ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Daniel Sedin finally ended his
Sedin looks to build off the momentum of a two-point game when
the Vancouver Canucks visit the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
The 28-year-old left wing scored twice in the second game of the
season, helping the Canucks earn a 5-4 overtime victory over the
Calgary Flames on October 11. Sedin struggled in his next seven
contests, however, registering only one assist over that span.
Sedin got back on track Thursday, scoring a power-play goal and
setting up another tally as Vancouver posted a 4-0 triumph over
the Los Angeles Kings.
Captain Roberto Luongo stopped all 28 shots he faced to notch
his second shutout of the season and 40th career. The next game
for Luongo, who has started each of the Canucks' last five
contests, will be the 500th of his career.
Whoever starts in goal for Vancouver will have to be at their
best against the Ducks, who have won five straight games and are
coming off a 5-4 overtime victory over the defending Stanley Cup
champion Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday.
Teemu Selanne registered his 21st career hat trick in the win,
while Ryan Getzlaf set a franchise record with five assists.
