With six losses in a row and a lacklustre offense, the Flames have to change their philosophy now before it's too late.
Judging by the public outcry in Calgary following a 9-1 loss to San Jose Monday and the team’s precipitous fall from third place in the conference to ninth in less than two weeks, you’d think the Saddledome was falling in on the Flames.

A team that had no playoff hopes to begin with gave up a huge chunk of their future, hurting the team for years to come.
Imagine the buzz in Toronto today had the Maple Leafs not foolishly traded away their first round pick in the 2010 draft?
They’d be talking about possibly getting that first overall pick.

In my last blog, I covered off candidates for the 2010 Hockey Hall of Fame induction class. In summary, I said Joe Nieuwendyk is the best first-time eligible (three years retired) player while Eric Lindros and John LeClair are bubble candidates.
