Often teased for being the weakest of the weak, the Southeast has produced two of the past five Cup winners and has plenty of Cinderella potential.
WASHINGTON CAPITALS THN Prediction: Second in the East Key Additions: Brendan Morrison, C; Mike Knuble, RW Key Departures: Brent Johnson, G; Donald Brashear, LW; Sergei Fedorov, C; Viktor Kozlov, RW Though the team lost significant pieces when Viktor Kozlov and Sergei Fedorov bolted for Russia, the additions of Mike Knuble and Brendan Morrison actually make the team better up front.

So, after a life of following the game as a fan, you, to your surprise, have been named GM of your favorite team. To your further shock and awe, the NHL has voided all player contracts and a draft will be held to refill rosters.

As an avid follower of all things hockey, I have to admit even I’ve grown tired of the Coyotes’ ownership fiasco. The one angle that hasn’t been beaten to death, however, is how the team will fare on the ice.

The Canadian Interuniversity Sport – the Great White North’s NCAA equivalent – is home to some great jerseys and will always hold a special place in my heart as I covered the University of Western Ontario Mustangs men’s and women’s teams throughout my days at the school.

Each move, large or subtle, has questions associated with it and here are three I’ve found intriguing: Q: Just how bizarre is Saku Koivu going to look in Ducks colors? A: Really, really freakin’ bizarre.
