It's one thing to be passionate about the team that will represent Canada at the upcoming Games, quite another to be disrespectful of the competition in the process.

We may never know exactly what happened, but we need to make sure we don't dwell or let it change our opinions of officials.
Attention, seekers of the obvious: the current brouhaha involving NHL referee Stephane Auger and Vancouver Canucks winger Alex Burrows has the potential to leave a particularly ugly stain on the league and the game.

The 2010 version of the NHL outdoor game was the best yet, not only for the teams and fans, but for a pair of Flyers who used the game as a resurrection showcase.
BOSTON – The NHL’s Winter Classic, Version 3.0, couldn’t have been more of a hit if every storied slugger of Red Sox lore brought all of their collective batting prowess to a t-ball marathon.

Some of the buzz in Boston leading up to Friday's Winter Classic involved how to increase the number of outdoor games and where they could go.
BOSTON – Before a single second of the 2010 edition of the NHL Winter Classic was played – and in spite of the fact the league has failed to include arguably its top star (Alex Ovechkin) in the process – the now-annual outdoor game has become a runaway, unqualified success.

A glut of poor play and injuries amongst the men who patrol the crease will see the free agent and trade market heat up in the coming weeks.
