Richard Meunier, Harrisville, R.I. The recent The Hockey News poll (Oct. 11 issue) on "what city the NHL should go to next" was right on.

Steven Ellis, Oakville, Ont. The 1994-95 season frustrated many fans. It was the first time the NHL had a lockout. But that lasted only half the season.

Thomas Vidal-Lessard, Cookshire-Eaton, Que. It's a shame Shane Doan got suspended three games for a questionable hit on Dan Sexton and Niklas Hjalmarsson only two games for practically sending Jason Pominville through the boards and up in the 10th row.

Kenny Callow, Madison, Ohio I am shocked you guys picked the Lake Erie Monsters to finish sixth in your American League season preview. The Monsters have plenty of talent like David Van der Gulik, Greg Mauldin, Jason Bacashihua and Patrick Bordeleau, just to name a few.

Jeff Koopman, Campbell River, B.C. Fighting for the wrong reason is wrong. Even in hockey. But I still watch, it's just human nature.

Steve Clowers, Grand Terrace, Calif. I don't understand why Las Vegas keeps popping up in conversations about relocation/expansion? First of all, this is not a knock on Vegas, but I lived there for many years and when the town had the IHL Thunder, they couldn't even support them.

Jeff Koopman, Campbell River, B.C. The Kontinental League may not be good for the NHL, but the KHL is good for hockey. I don't mind the NHL being the top league in the world, but the NHL should not be the only major hockey league.
by The Hockey News - October 12, 2010 10:47 AM EDT
Jeff Koopman, Campbell River, B.C. I think all NHL rosters should be set at 15 skaters and two goalies. Nobody pays to see the fourth line or sixth defenseman play or not play.
