Bill Gaston Neily, Elmvale, Ont. Thank you to Ken Campbell for his "The Flying Father" article in the Nov. 1 issue dedicated to Father Les Costello.

Phil Rivoire, Arviat, Nunavut I would like to congratulate you on your Nov. 22 cover story on P.K. Subban for portraying a fair, unbiased account of a young man trying to make his way in the NHL by being a tough, fierce competitor.

Brett Hanna, Salmon Arm, B.C. Pure talent or brute strength used to be the only way to the NHL, but things have changed. I am quite proud of the young Steven Stamkos because he realized his talent wasn't enough to allow him to succeed at a high level.

Mike Niehaus, Portsmouth, Va. Connecticut Whale, too fishy! Hartford Whalers, just right! When I first read that the American League’s Hartford Wolfpack changed its' name to the Connecticut Whale, and saw the new uniform and logo, I thought, why not just call them the Hartford Whalers? Until the NHL decides to bring back the Winnipeg Jets, the AHL should rename the Manitoba Moose and give them Winnipeg's name and rename it the Jets.

Josh Barr, Flin Flon, Man. There really needs to be harsher penalties given out to players who fight after hits. Whether it be delay of game or unsportsmanlike or whatever, something needs to done.

Kody Farrow, Dalmeny, Sask. I find it ridiculous that the Flames would trade Jarome Iginla. He is the heart and soul of the Flames and draws crowds by himself.

Rick Mutton, Port Perry, Ont. Goaltender salaries are looking interesting. Based on the salaries from the THN depth charts and the standings as Nov.

Jason Wryghte, Trenton, Ontario The Top 100 Players of All-Time by Position misses the mark. By only having one defenseman, the top lineups for each team are always shorthanded.

Alexa McMillan, Edmonton The Hockey Hall of Fame is about recognizing people for their contributions and achievements in hockey. Angela James and Cammi Granato have made huge contibrutions to women's hockey and hockey in general.

Eric Ritter, Deltona, Fla. The passing of Pat Burns was a sad moment for the NHL and its fans. Sad not only because a great coach and hockey personality had been taken from us, but sad because no one with authority saw it fit to take any initiative to get him into the Hockey Hall of Fame before his passing.

Terry Fraser, Sellersburg, Ind. The NHL should be commended for being the most proactive of the major sports in changing their product to add entertainment value and competitiveness.

Sean McDonald, Winnipeg, Man. I am only 12 years old and have already suffered three concussions through hockey and my worry is how players get away with cheap shots in the NHL.

"We're playing the defending champs and you can tell they're not going to beat themselves. That team, just from them going all the way, you can see it over there. There's no panic…You can tell that's a machine over there and we've got to be at our best."
- San Jose's Scott Gomez on the Los Angeles Kings. Los Angeles leads the series 2-1.
