Why Steve Yzerman would not invite them to the camp is beyond me.
When Canada named the list of players invited to the training camp in August, it surprised me that Jason Spezza and Marc Savard were not on the list.

So although the Wings didn't win the 2009 Stanley Cup, they should definitely be proud of their classy fans.
I was lucky enough to get two tickets to Game 7 at “The Joe” to witness history in the making and wow, what a night.
My 11-year-old son Brendan, who just happens to be a huge Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh Penguins fan, and I made the four-hour trip from our home to Detroit for the game.

This pretty much shows the excitement of all the Penguin fans after their fairy tale run to win the Stanley Cup.
As you can see a picture is worth a thousand words.
Sarah Stroh is one of the younger Penguin fans still in a celebrating mood in a Detroit sports store.

Why not have a limit on how much a player can make and still have a no-trade clause?
The whole speculation over the Dany Heatley trade/no trade fiasco has got me thinking: Why not have a limit on how much a player can make and still have a no-trade clause?
For example, make it so no-trade clauses are only available for players making less than $3 million dollars, that way, players have to choose whether they want stability financially, or if they want stability with their living arrangements.

I just beamed at his kindness as the security guard took our picture together. Pavel is a very kind and nice person. He made my day.
I attended the 2009 NHL Awards last week in Las Vegas. It was really an experience to be a fan and take part in the festivities.
The most memorable moments were getting autographs of players by the hotel pool.

Maybe, just maybe, the NHL could require teams to use wooden sticks for the Outdoor Classic games.
I recall one of my first experiences as a boy playing pond hockey was hearing the sound of a crisp pass hitting a wooden stick blade.
We grew up playing at a "hidden pond" that was on a farm field in a Chicago suburb.

Gentlemen, congratulations! You all deserve it.
This year's Hall of Fame class is deserving for what they have accomplished.
Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille and Brian Leetch are examples that both the junior hockey and U.

Thanks, Chris, for your dedication to the game of hockey and I hope to see you keep playing.
A Sad Day in Mudville it is indeed on the parting of ways between Chris Chelios and the Detroit Red Wings.
I have been a loyal fan of Cheli since his entry into the league and I admire him for his long and productive career.

This is one situation where what happens in Vegas, shouldn't stay in Vegas!
Folding chairs. Boos from the audience. Performances that didn't hit the “jackpot.”
The 2009 NHL Awards was not an award ceremony to remember.

I hope new fans were captured by this year's final, just as I was 15 years ago, and that the game continues to grow and gain the acclaim it now deserves.
The 1993-94 playoffs were the spark to my hockey obsession. It opened my eyes to the speed and excitement of the game, more specifically to the talents of one Pavel Bure.

Can the Hall of Fame still be considered a legitimate without these two great players as members?
I think it's about time the Hockey Hall of Fame recognizes two individuals who have accomplished and contributed to the NHL to standards worthy of recognition.

If Bettman thinks this is going to be the next big hockey hot bed, I think he is very much mistaken; a team in Vegas simply makes no sense.
Could the NHL awards have been any more boring this year?
I missed Ron McLean as host. What is with the deal with being in Las Vegas anyway?
