Teddy Purcell has arrived with the Tampa Bay Lightning, so if you waited on him, it's finally paying off.
It took Teddy Purcell four years to become fantasy relevant, but it took him just one more to become a star. As is often the case when it comes to undrafted college stars, poolies (and possibly Los Angeles GM Dean Lombardi, too) expected immediate dividends.

I love it when a dark horse’s fantasy progress can be tracked through older columns. I love it even more when that player is smallish, undrafted and pretty much has clawed his way into stardom.

It's not always about how talented the goalie is, but what team he plays for and what the situation is.
The goaltending position is the most important in fantasy hockey. Hey, that sounds just like real hockey, doesn’t it?
At the draft you need to make certain you are covered at G, because in rotisserie leagues that position is usually responsible for 30 to 40 percent of the categories.

As the goal-scoring rate in the NHL goes up or down, fantasy owners must adapt to get the best value.
The NHL is constantly shifting and I have some statistics to back this up that will make your eyes pop out of your head. As a fantasy owner, it is your responsibility to change your mindset and adapt to the way things are shifting.

Peter Mueller has returned to hockey. The real Peter Mueller, not the unproductive one who made a brief appearance back in October. But is he back from his concussion now in the sense Patrice Bergeron is back? Or is he back in the sense Sidney Crosby was back?
Mueller had high expectations 16 months ago after posting 20 points in just 15 games after joining the Avalanche in 2010.
