Has Ville Leino been put into the right combination where his attributes can be rewarded?
The free agent signing I singled out as the best bet to be a bust was Ville Leino of the Sabres and so far it’s looking bang on. Buffalo is a team flush with talented, small forwards, many of whom are on the cusp of taking that next step, so adding a player in his prime with similar attributes for big money would only dampen the development of some of the youngsters.

With more concussion concerns, is Sid going down the same road as Eric Lindros?; plus Eric Staal's turnaround.
Uh oh. Sidney Crosby will sit out the next two games “as a precaution.” And just like that, Crosby owners went from high-fiving each other for being so patient with him to shaking their heads in frustration.

Dobber looks at some of the best producers night-in, night-out and shares his thoughts.
Toronto teammates (and linemates) Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul are first and third in the scoring parade for good reason. It’s hard not to be among the best when you hit the scoresheet in 20 of 26 contests – a feat they’ve both accomplished.

Dobber assesses which players have the most fantasy success at home and on the road.
Deciding between two closely matched players is sometimes as simple as looking at their performance at home versus on the road. Those in daily leagues are often torn between dressing an average player who is white-hot or a top player who is in a bit of a slump.

The Oilers' Ryan Smyth can't keep up his pace, but Kyle Turris could quickly put up points when he makes his Coyotes return.
When Ryan Smyth returned to Edmonton over the summer, a lot of poolies figured he would have a rebound campaign. Nobody saw this coming. The 35-year-old new/old Oiler is coming off of a stretch of 299 games in which he donned three other uniforms - the Kings, the Avalanche and the Islanders.

Our fantasy expert uses a tool that breaks down the best lines from around the NHL over the past month.
Nothing gets a fantasy owner excited like a review of line combinations. The prevalent theory is if a player plays with skilled linemates, that player stands a better chance of increasing his production.

Dobber ranks players based on their cap hit per point so far this season.
Not enough column space is dedicated to presenting and analyzing players who are cost effective. That is to say, they have even more value in fantasy leagues with a salary cap than they do in regular leagues.

Derek Stepan and Artem Anisimov owners will be happy about their new home alongside Marian Gaborik.
Call them whatever you like – the ‘GAS’ line, or the ‘MAD’ line – poolies don’t care. All that matters is Marian Gaborik, Derek Stepan and Artem Anisimov are piling up points.

Jamie Benn isn't just off to a hot start - he's a player you should aggressively pursue in your league.
In a points-only keeper league, would you trade Zach Parise for Jamie Benn straight up? What about Eric Staal? Brad Richards? Ilya Kovalchuk? The correct answer is – yes.

The top 2010 draft prospects are strutting their stuff at the NHL level, but has their order at the draft changed in fantasy circles?
Remember the media-made Taylor vs. Tyler fiasco 18 months ago? We all knew the Oilers would draft Taylor Hall, but hockey pundits wanted to make it clear the decision would be close, and rightly so.

Will Kyle Wellwood and Jiri Tlusty start realizing the potential they once were lauded for?
There have been countless times when a young player is rolling along in what could only be considered the beginning of his big breakout – and then injury strikes.

After thriving in Chicago, Kris Versteeg has finally found himself again in Florida with a new-look Panthers team.
This is the player the Leafs went after last summer. This is the player the Flyers went after in February. Kris Versteeg showed hustle, tenacity and, more importantly for poolies, production during the 2008-09 campaign when he was with the Blackhawks.
