As the Senators deal with a plethora of injuries, will they turn to the trade market to bolster their playoff hopes?
The Ottawa Senators are believed to be seeking short-term replacements for sidelined stars Jason Spezza and Erik Karlsson. Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen reported GM Bryan Murray is looking into acquiring expensive replacements such as Colorado's Ryan O'Reilly, Florida's Stephen Weiss and Edmonton's Ryan Whitney, but there are budgetary concerns around those players.

Colorado’s Ryan O'Reilly remains the dominant name in the trade rumour mill. The Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch reported sources claiming Senators GM Bryan Murray had contacted Avalanche GM Greg Sherman about O'Reilly, but found the asking price – a roster player “who can help right now,” a prospect and a draft pick – too expensive.
