In the mailbag this week: Can Carter win the scoring race? What's the instigator rule? Dubinsky a Flame? And more.
By the time you read this, I’ll be in beautiful Montreal, doing sportswriter stretches (hint: they start and end with a bent elbow and a pint or 10 of beer) and preparing for Sunday’s “big” NHL All-Star Game.

In this week's mailbag: Who's the best team? When will Gary get the boot? And where does Modano rank?
Yeesh, you people (what do I mean, “you people” – sorry, but I’m having difficulty getting that Tropic Thunder joke out of my head) sure do send in a lot of great questions.

THN's staff answers questions on the shootout spin-o-rama, David Krejci, all-time wins, home jerseys, and more.
With Adam Proteau enjoying his last week of vacation, we take a team effort to this week’s mailbag. On to your questions: Hey Adam, I was reading one of your fellow expert's columns the other day and was wondering why the NHL doesn't count shootout goals towards a player's individual stats? Wouldn't it make sense since this shootout format is designed to determine the outcome of a lot of games during the season and nothing that happens in it counts for anything other than an extra point in the standings? At the very least the winning shootout goal should count for the player who scored it.

Hello again, hockey obsessives. This here’s gonna be the last web mailbag until Jan. 9th, when the THN team will fill in for a week until I return from an extended hibernation.

In this week's mailbag: Taking the B's seriously... is Toews elite?... and what will the next rule change be?
It’s the dawn of a new Ask Adam era – not online, but on the satellite radio airwaves, as we’ll begin answering reader and listener questions on the brand new THN Radio Show that debuts Friday on XM Home Ice channel 204 from 3-4 p.

In this Friday's mailbag: What is plus/minus... the SouthLeast Division is back... and Christmas gift ideas.
You know what I’m most thankful for this year? I didn’t have to do a “hockey-things-I’m-most-thankful-for”-themed column.

In this week's mailbag: five-man shootouts?... Thomas in the ASG?... Torts a coach again?... Burke to T.O.?... and more.
It seems that every week, there are dozens more Ask Adam submissions to sort through. And the more that come in, the guiltier I feel for not being able to get to each one.

In the mailbag: Brunnstrom a fluke?; intentional offsides; best NHL music; and Gaborik in Montreal.
Okay, we’re going to try and mow these suckers down quick-hit style and get through as many as possible, as I’m starting to get heat from some of you.

Is Kovalchuk’s time in Atlanta coming to an end?... What’s ‘The Code’? … a Kilger comeback?
It’s been a great week, hasn’t it? I was medically induced into a coma Tuesday night just to make sure I wouldn’t be bummed out for the next four years, but fortunately stuff worked out well and I was brought out of it the next morning.

Proteau answers your questions on jersey retirements, two teams in T.O., the Flyers' future and many more.
The natural thing to lead off with for this week’s mailbag would be some sort of slick Halloween reference. However, seeing as the real news has been more of a sphincter-tightening scare than any Vincent Price, Christopher Lee or Hilarious House of Frightenstein memory, I’ll avoid the obvious and get right down to business.

Tavares or Hedman? Bias refereeing? Bigger ice? Olympic tickets? All questions answered in this week's mailbag.
I didn’t take my daily “snark” additive because I wanted to mention how continually amazed I am when it comes to the vastly diverse parts of the world you’re writing questions from.
