How did Montreal turn it around so quickly? Should the Oilers trade their No. 1 pick? Has the NHL done enough for fans? And more.
Yes, it’s March already – and that means we’re a little more than a month away from the NHL trade deadline. That usually means more swap-related mailbag questions, but before you whip up a Joe Corvo-for-Patrice Bergeron-type exchange, remember my general rule for trade speculation: if it doesn’t sound tantalizing to both sides, it isn’t happening no matter how much you wish it would.

Should the Calder be available to any first-year NHLer?; which is the best NHL team right now?; and more.

I’m back from vacation – and I have to say, although your questions kept coming at a steady pace during the ponderous NHL lockout, as soon as it ended, the mailbag questions began flooding in.

Why not arbitration for NHL and PA? Do players not care about the poor? What NHL team would a lost season hurt most?
Greetings. Also, salutations. This is my last mailbag of the year before a well-deserved - OK, maybe just a “deserved” - vacation.
by Adam Proteau - December 14, 2012 12:41 PM EST
Is Colorado a playoff team?; why not agree on a one-year CBA to save the season?; and more.
Here we are, once again, addressing your questions in the THN mailbag. I’m taking a few weeks of vacation after next Friday’s mailbag is filed, but keep your submissions coming, because my colleagues will answer them in my stead.

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”
