Have something you'd like to know about the NHL or have something to say about what The Hockey News has written? Every Friday, columnist Adam Proteau will respond to your emails in The Hockey News.com's mailbag feature.
by The Hockey News - March 11, 2011 2:05 PM EST
With Adam away THN staffers come out to play and answer your questions on rookies, Adam Larsson and big rinks.
Adam is off on vacation, so THN staffers step up to answer your queries this week and next. Adam will return to the mailbag March 25, refreshed and ready to go.
by Adam Proteau - March 4, 2011 2:45 PM EST
In the week-ending mailbag: How much do the Hawks miss 'Big Buff'?; what's up in Atlanta?; and much more.
A good Friday to you all. This will be my last mailbag for the next two weeks - a working vacation beckons - but, as usual, my trusty THN colleagues will step in and answer your questions to the best of their ability.
by Adam Proteau - February 25, 2011 3:29 PM EST
With the NHL trade deadline three days away, Adam answers your transaction-related questions.
As I write this, it’s T-minus 72 hours or so until the NHL trade deadline passes. As such, I’m dealing with far more trade proposals from all you aspiring GMs out there.
by Adam Proteau - February 18, 2011 10:19 AM EST
In the week-ending mailbag: What will the Wings do when Lidstrom retires?; should Crosby come back?; and much more.
We’re 10 days away from the NHL trade deadline and I’m being deluged with questions proposing this deal or that deal. Many, if not most, are too preposterous for me to answer.
by Adam Proteau - February 11, 2011 2:16 PM EST
In the week-ending mailbag: getting rid of the trapezoid; Forsberg's return; NHL suspensions; and more.
If NHL GMs keep making swaps of consequence far before Feb. 28, the poor schmucks who work the hours-long trade deadline TV shows are going to need more than a little Irish Cream in their coffees to make it through the day.
by Adam Proteau - February 4, 2011 1:40 PM EST
Is Colorado's defenseman a top rookie?; should Sutter go to Ottawa?; expansion or relocation?; and more.
Happy Friday. Want to celebrate it as dozens of hockey fans do every week? All you have to do is send me a question - or, if you insist, a letter and include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you want it returned - and I’ll do my best to answer it here, in the magazine or on THN Radio.
by Adam Proteau - January 28, 2011 10:45 AM EST
In the mailbag: Drury done?; will Gretzky return?; new playoff format idea; and much more.
If you’re reading this, you probably know the mailbag routine pretty well by now. You send me questions and I respond to a selection of them – sometimes online, sometimes in the THN magazine and sometimes on the THN Radio Show.

In the week-ending mailbag: will the Canes make the post-season?; should Vancouver trade Luongo?; and much more.
With Evgeni Nabokov signed by Detroit late Thursday night, another goalie has entered a flooded netminding market. There’s no assurance Nabokov will clear waivers – just ask twice-bitten Blues GM Doug Armstrong – but as I noted in last week’s mailbag, those who believe another goalie (such as Florida’s Tomas Vokoun or Toronto’s J-S Giguere) will be able to fetch a top prospect or player in a trade are fooling themselves.
by Adam Proteau - January 14, 2011 1:45 PM EST
What's the goalie market like and who's available?; why no THNers on the Power and Influence list?; and more.
If you’re really hoping to have your question answered in this space – or in the pages of The Hockey News, or on THN Radio – might I suggest you put a little money on the board to motivate me to do so? Just messing with you.
by The Hockey News - January 7, 2011 2:40 PM EST
Can Vancouver's rookie hang in the race?; too much Crosby?; what are future considerations?; and more.
With Adam on an extended Christmas holiday – returning next week to answer your questions – THN staffers address your queries on this calm, Friday afternoon.
by Adam Proteau - December 24, 2010 9:35 AM EST
In the Christmas Eve mailbag: Is a Nabokov return imminent?; how great is Datsyuk?; where's Ovie?; and more.
OK, so I lied – this is my final mailbag for a couple weeks. But keep your questions coming and I'll get to them upon my return. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.
by Adam Proteau - December 17, 2010 12:40 PM EST
In the mailbag: Compensation levels for Parise; will Malkin recapture his magic?; will Khabibulin go to jail?; and more.
I don’t know about you, but when I saw Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau cursing like the late Sam Kinston on HBO’s 24/7 series the other day, I was mortified.
