Despite a high-powered offense and respectable defense, the Philadelphia Flyers were let down by goalie Ilya Bryzgalov in the post-season. The only reason Philadelphia got to Round 2 was because Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was even worse. The Hurricanes made perhaps the biggest splash this off-season, by acquiring Jordan Staal from the Pittsburgh Penguins to join his brother. But GM Jim Rutherford didn't stop there. He pursued Washington free agent Alexander Semin and inked the Russian to a one-year pact.
