If Brett Connolly feels he took a step back by spending this year in the American League you would never know it by his attitude. Excluding a short stint with Canada at the WJC, Connolly played the entire 2011-12 season with Tampa Bay, but entering his sophomore campaign the organization thought it was best for him to play in the AHL.

The Edmonton Oilers had high hopes for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins when they drafted him first overall at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Ray Emery has had a turbulent career that has been put into jeopardy by injuries. But so far this season with Chicago, Emery is 10-0 with a .917 SP and 2.28 GAA. THN's Ryan Kennedy traveled to Chicago where he caught up with the goaltender.
Looking at the career of Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Ray Emery it's hard not to be amazed at how much difference a year can make. In 2007, Emery backstopped the Ottawa Senators to the Stanley Cup final, but by spring 2010 he was forced to shut down his year prematurely when he was diagnosed with a hip ailment called avascular necrosis, which put his career in jeopardy.
