Matt Carle is in his second stint with the Lightning, but it will be much longer than his first go-round. THN’s Adam Proteau sat down with 28-year-old defenseman to discuss adjusting to his new team, the compact season and more.
Few may remember Matt Carle’s first stint with the Tampa Bay Lightning and you would have to forgive them. In the summer of 2008, the San Jose Sharks traded Carle, Ty Wishart and two picks, to the Lightning for Dan Boyle and Brad Lukowich.

Montreal's bid for a three-peat was quashed by the Blades, who took full advantage of special teams.
MARKHAM, ONT. – As the relatively short dynasty of the Montreal Stars came to an end – a 5-2 loss to the Boston Blades in the Clarkson Cup final Saturday afternoon halted Montreal’s bid for three straight Canadian Women’s League championships – the gatekeeper of the planet’s best league for elite female players said she was pleased with the growth made in the much longer game of expanding the sport.
