GAME 5: TORONTO 2, BOSTON 1 – BRUINS LEAD 3-2
Why Toronto won: The Leafs turned the tables on the Bruins by playing essentially the same opportunistic type of game Boston used to win three of the first four games of this series: Toronto leaned on goalie James Reimer all night, capitalized on a couple of the home team’s mistakes and held on for dear life in a third period that saw the trailing team furiously assault the leading team with a flurry of shots on net.

The Penguins turned to their backup goalie and got a strong performance in a winning effort that took the series lead back; Ottawa buried Montreal with a convincing win to move on to Round 2; and Chicago's depth propelled them ahead.

The Maple Leafs fought hard, but let one slip away in overtime; the Rangers' offense kept chugging and led them to a Game 4 win and a tie in the series; Los Angeles comes back from 2-0 series deficit to take 3-2 lead; and the Ducks escape with their own OT win.

Why Boston won: The Bruins were outplayed most of the night, but showed veteran calm after giving up the first two goals of the game, constantly testing Leafs goalie James Reimer, who struggled mightily with his rebound control all night long.
