ALBERTA GOLDEN BEARS 5 |>
[LEAGUESTAT SUMMARY] ~ [SCORER'S SHEET] ~ [U OF A STORY] ~ [C.W. STORY] Something that happens with some regularity is that when a team beats the Evil Monkeys on Friday night they get their *** handed to them in Saturday's rematch. For example, the opening weekend series they had against Calgary.
So when the Evil Monkeys were swiping wallets and jewelery and opening a 4-0 lead, all seemed normal in Edmontown. The 1st period shots on goal were 13-4 for Alberta, and it was 2-0 within 3 minutes. The Bisons somewhat withstood the barage thereafter, but a goal in the last minute of the 1st and on a PP within two minutes of the 2nd made this one look like a romp.
Tyler Dittmer notched his 4th goal five minutes into the 2nd and the Bisons went into the 2nd intermission down 4-1. Not a great situation, but better than a shut-out.
In the 3rd it was time to make things scary on Halloween for the Evil Monkeys. Mike Hellyer scored in the opening minute and it was 4-2. And the Monkeys were worried. I heard they may have thrown some feces on their bench. However, while the Bisons created chances they were not generating goals until 16 minutes, when Ian Duval made it 4-3. With Alberta clinging to life the scored an empty netter to salt away the win, and move back into a tie.
With the Bisons entering a bye week and Alberta facing UBC, one has to think that Alberta will regain first place. But the Bisons have shown that they can match the Monkeys, and everybody else for that matter.

[LEAGUESTAT SUMMARY] ~ [SCORER'S SHEET] ~ [UBC STORY] Holy crap! The Banjo Dogs beat the H0rny Ones like a rented mule yet again. It was 4-0 after the 1st, and shots were 15-5 for Sask. However, Lethbridge did not throw in the towel. They rallied somewhat and by the end outshot Sask 38-35. But Sask did not let them gain any ground.
REGINA COUGARS 1
CALGARY DINOSAURS 2 |>
[LEAGUESTAT SUMMARY] ~ [SCORER'S SHEET] ~ [U OF C STORY] This looked to be an even match-up. But the Cougars needed points, and Calgary now leads Regina by 8 points.
