Le Club athlétique Canadien

Have something to say about the game in general or on minor or junior hockey? You've found the right the spot.

For the record, O'Byrne didn't get recalled, he made the team outright. Secondly, from all reports he was beginning to come into his own and may be the sole reason Komisarik was expendable. Like many young defensemen, he needed time to develop. Unfortunely for the Habs he got hurt. I am looking forward to seeing his huge presence in the line-up, this year and for years to come. I take exception to some feed back that is always maligning youg players before they have had a chance to develop.

For the second time in less than a month, the Montreal Canadiens have suspended Sergei Kostitsyn. Sergei Kostitsyn has walked out on the Hamilton Bulldogs and is rumored to be looking at offers from a few teams in the KHL. Once again, they should trade Andrei Kostitsyn while they still have the chance. If they had traded Sergei Kostitsyn when they had the chance, at least Montreal would have some compensation for the loss. The Montreal Canadiens should trade Andrei Kostitsyn now while they can and above all else make sure Sergei Kostitsyn doesn't get back into the NHL without a ticket.

And the soap opera continues for less than 24 hours after that, Sergei Kostitsyn agreed via phone with Bob Gainey to rejoin the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL. Either way, Sergei Kostitsyn should be removed. The distraction should be removed. The attitude should be removed. Sergei Kostitsyn should be removed - And you can take his brother Andrei Kostitsyn with him. I think most Habs fans have had enough of this nonsense. Move'em out.

The K brothers seem to be an issue right now. Maybe it is time to cut bait. How do you like the sounds of Sutter and maybe a low pick from Carolina, who are struggling or perhaps Higgins and Boyle from the Rangers. The Rangers are reported to be trying to move Higgins.

This is just an opinion and I could be wrong but I doubt that either Sergei Kostitsyn or Andrei Kostitsyn alone could fetch a return of Chris Higgins from New York or Brandon Sutter from the Carolina Hurricanes. As a brother act together, I doubt Carolina would part with the Sutter kid. He's a first round draft pick and a steady developing player. What Bob Gainey 'could' do, because of the injury to Andrei Markov, is try shopping both Sergei Kostitsyn and Andrei Kostitsyn for a good puck-moving defenseman. The Catch is those who have one don't want to give them up and Montreal's already somewhat committed under the salary cap.

I definely don't agree with you in the case of the Rangers. As far as Carolina is concerned they need some immediate help. The K brothers aren't exactly chopped liver. I like the suggestion of bring back Chelios and immediately turn him into a coach as soon as we don't need him on the ice. That Chelios for Denis Savard trade still churns in my gut. Maybe this would right the ship and put the Hockey Gods on the right team.

As for the goalie controversy, I don't see much separation, unless there is a health issue

Sergei Kostitsyn and Andrei Kostitsyn should both be moved at this time as a precaution, if a trade is available.

Montreal's (so-called) 'Goaltending Controversy': Bob Gainey is not the best when it comes to handling his goaltenders. This goes back to Dallas. Above all else, I hope they cut Carey Price all the developmental slack they can give the kid. Trading Carey Price is not an option.

[Why do I say that?] Because almost every other team in the league would value having him. I know Leafs fans would  Chicago fans [Go Hawks Go] too. I was disappointed that most fans have dropped Carey Price from their lists of Team Canada [Olympic] hopefuls. The public have lost faith in him - The real fans have not. Hopefully Hab fans haven't either.

Over the weekend, Jaroslav Halak's agent Allan Walsh got on Twitter and posted something how Carey Price only has 10 wins in his last 42 starts. Carey Price is 10-32 over his last 42 starts. Montreal are currently sitting in 11th place in the NHL eastern conference with a record of 8-9. Carey Price is 3-7. Jaroslav Halak is 5-2 with a GAA of 2:85 to Carey Price's GAA of 3:30 - How do we 'not' have a goaltending controversy?

Personally I thought Alan Walsh's comments were totally low road and every team in the league should take a look to see if any of their players are handled by Alan Walsh and if so treat it the same way you'd treat a client of Mark Gandler. Alan Walsh and Mark Gandler are low road sleaseball player agents. If it were me, I would not want any of their clients on my team.
