Seriously. Whenever I tell anyone that, yes, I wore a Panthers jersey as a kid in minor hockey practice, the same flabbergasted look always comes back at me.

The refs, as they always do, judged the game in an unbiased manner and to let talk of a conspiracy overshadow a wonderful Cup is a shame.
Can everyone stop the slinging, put down the mud and enjoy what was a thrilling Stanley Cup final, before this season becomes one for the long-term memory bank?

The presentation of Lord Stanley's mug is always special, but there's icing on the cake when it happens in front of home fans.
The time is near.
It could be Monday, or it could still be more than a week away. One thing’s for sure, though, I just love when the Stanley Cup comes out of hibernation, especially when it’s presented in front of a hometown crowd.

Through his career I’ve never considered him among my favorite players – in fact, most of the time I found myself rooting against him - but you have to appreciate his passion for the game and his willingness to proudly display it.

As a traditional-minded hockey fan, it always makes me happy to see the physical aspect of the game alive and well and that it can still be the difference between winning and losing.

Wow.
What a start to what should be a long, enticing series.
It wasn’t the bloodbath some expected after their over-the-top season finale, but it was truly a back-and-forth game full of everything.
