Random thoughts on all things Canucks
Here's a few random thoughts to keep me interested in the NHL offseason.
I had a job interview a couple of years ago and the interviewer asked me how proficient I was with Microsoft applications.

Walter let us stay and watch for free
On Wednesday night, the Vancouver Canucks held their annual ‘state of the franchise’ address at GM Place in a very casual setting that was reminiscent of a Late Night with Conan O’Brien Q&A segment.

When will the Canucks retire # 16?
Every off-season, the release of the Canucks official schedule reminds me of the scene in the movie ‘The Jerk’ when Steve Martin’s character gets overly excited at the arrival of the new phonebook because it’s the first time he’s seen his name in print.

Is the Canucks ship sinking?
It’s almost time to press the panic button in VanCity.
Can someone please explain to me how Markus Naslund doesn’t even get an offer from Vancouver? After 12 years of devoted service to the city of Vancouver and its loyal fans, the new Canucks management doesn’t even open dialogue with the current captain?
Wow.

Would you sign in Vancouver if you were unrestricted?
Two things were missing in Vancouver over the past few months: springtime weather and playoff hockey.
It only took until nearly July for the sun to become a soothing remedy on the backs of the residents of one of the most beautiful cities in the NHL.

Trevor Linden announces his retirement from the NHL.
Sometimes superheroes have to hang up their capes.
Today Trevor Linden officially announced his retirement from the NHL, and just like that, Vancouver hockey fans will no longer be able to cheer for the gangly teenager who transformed into a full grown action hero and gave his heart and soul to an organization and a community like none other before him.

Right back at ya, Luc
I didn’t know Luc Bourdon personally.
Chances are you didn’t know him either. But that doesn’t help ease the sense of loss and sorrow Vancouver hockey fans are feeling today.

Say it ain't so
What a horrible loss.
I’m blogging from California today, and before I left I contacted my editor and said I won’t be posting for a few weeks, not unless something significant happened with Canucks Nation while I was gone.

The best jobs are the ones where experience isn't required
Hey, remember that time you were browsing monster.com and all the good jobs you wanted to apply for said experience required?
Yeah, I’ve been in that situation too.

Will we ever know the truth about Nonis?
“In terms of what we were trying to do here, would I change things? No, I wouldn’t. We wanted to have a team that would have a chance to win four playoff rounds, not one.

Canucks' owners let it all hang out in the pursuit of a winner
Mark Cuban’s got ‘em. So does Jerry Jones and so did George Steinbrenner when he was at the helm of the pinstripes.
And now you can add Vancouver Canucks Chairman Francesco Aquilini to the list of professional sports team owners who’ve got the balls to make a drastic move to try and improve their franchise.
