Tomas Holmstrom may be one of the best net-front presences to ever play in the NHL, but he's definitely not that great when it comes to helping around the house. Watch as he takes being a handyman to the extreme.

Tomas Holmstrom was a lot of things during his NHL career: Stanley Cup champion, net-front nuisance, and a key cog of the perennial contender Detroit Red Wings. Now, in retirement, it appears Holmstrom is an overzealous handyman.

In a series of commercials for Swedish Internet provider T3, Holmstrom tries his hand at a number of household tasks, like tenderizing a steak and lighting some candles around the house. Problem is, Holmstrom does the tasks with the same rugged style that made him so successful during his career:

But it doesn’t stop there. Holmstrom, ever the good father, makes sure he helps his daughter when she needs the little things. Like, say, hanging a picture in a dollhouse:

Or putting a nice sharpen on a pencil so she can do her homework:

But maybe the best of the bunch comes when the 41-year-old Swede keeps the fire blazing for his wife with a nice piece of kindling:

And when she’s out of the house, Holmstrom takes the time to do some chores to help everything looking clean:

Being a wily veteran of the shaving game, the 2006 Olympic gold medalist knows just how to get the close shave he’s been looking for:

When it’s all said and done, Holmstrom can turn any simple task into a production, it seems. After all that work, though, the retired NHLer needs a light snack. Good thing he’s got his chainsaw:

I can’t think of a better way for Holmstrom to spend his time post-career. Thanks to Kukla’s Korner for pointing out these gems.
