NHLers reveal which movies made them cryAthletes are notoriously tough and some say hockey players are the toughest of all. For those who think otherwise, here is some evidence to support your claim: Kevin Bieksa cried watching the movie Draft Day, starring Kevin Costner.
There’s no shame in crying, but the reactions of some players to a simple question – and some of the staunch denials that there has ever been a film which has made them cry – makes for some good comedy, intentional or otherwise:

We don’t believe you, Claude Giroux. No matter how tough the Philadelphia Flyers captain may be, even teammate Wayne Simmonds admitted he shed a few tears during The Notebook.
Full points go to Nathan MacKinnon and Seth Jones, two of the NHL’s brightest young stars, for going all out with their answers, though. We’re glad to see two of the top-five draft picks in 2013 get on the same page when it comes to Marley & Me, but we’re not so sure about The Vow. It appears Jones likes to keep up with his “soap opera movies,” as Tyler Seguin would say.
The best reaction in the whole video goes to Justin Faulk, though. The Carolina Hurricanes defenseman hardly had to wait a beat before spitting out that Hardball, which stars Keanu Reaves, made him shed a few tears, including the revelation that, “that one’s not… fun.”
Yet another in the NHL ‘Puck Personality’ video series, these videos continue to be great for a laugh and a look into the lives of some of the league’s talents. Now, if only we could find a movie that would make Giroux weep.
