Maple Leafs take comedic crack from Craig Ferguson during Rob Ford-fuelled monologue

It's an American show hosted by a Scot (alongside a gay robot skeleton and two interns in a horse costume), but even The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson isn’t beyond taking a shot at the Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup futility streak (at 46 years and counting).

Rob Ford’s crack-smoking scandal (with a only a side dish of

Justin Bieber at a brothel), Ferguson joked that “The real reason Toronto police knew Rob Ford was smoking crack was because he predicted Maple Leafs would win the Stanley Cup.”

The Leafs joke is around the five-minute mark, but I’d suggest watching the whole video as it, just as with all Ferguson monologues, is pure comedic gold.

There was a second hockey-related joke later in the bit, with a map of Canada showing the upper part of Quebec and the east coast as “Hockey Fights.”
