Lubomir Visnovsky retires after 14 NHL seasonsAfter parts of 14 NHL seasons Lubomir Visnovsky has retired, according to the KHL club Slovan Bratislava.
Visnovsky attended Chicago Blackhawks training camp on a professional tryout in September, but was released at the conclusion of camp.
In October, Visnovsky signed with Slovan Bratislava. In nine KHL games, the 39-year-old registered two goals and eight assists.
The 5-foot-10, 197-pound blue liner appeared in 883 NHL games with the L.A. Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks and New York Islanders, registering 128 goals and 495 points.
Internationally, Visnovsky represented Slovakia on several occasions winning a gold medal at the 2002 world championships to go along with a silver medal in 2000 and a bronze in 2003.
Visnovsky was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2000 NHL draft by the L.A. Kings.
