At the quarter mark of the season, the Central can claim to be the NHL’s Division of Death, with the highest points percentage in the league:

Central .649
Pacific .591
Atlantic .514
Metropolitan .491

That said, cut each division’s dead weight (bottom two or three teams) and the Pacific comes out ahead as the most top-heavy among the best five teams per division:

Pacific .715
Central .706
Atlantic .622
Metropolitan .529
