Canucks’ goalie masks are a mix of the comic and colorful

The Vancouver Canucks won’t have the playoffs to look forward to in the 2013-14 campaign, but their fans who also enjoy colorful goalie masks have something of a late-season treat: a freshly-painted cage for new netminder Jacob Markstrom, and a humorous addition to starter Eddie Lack’s mask.

Markstrom’s new mask – created by Swedish custom mask artist David Gunnarsson – resembles a killer whale:

Meanwhile, Markstrom’s Canucks counterpart and fellow Swede Eddie Lack has added famous Muppets character The Swedish chef to his regular mask this season. But you have to know exactly where to look for it:
