Edward Fraser, The Hockey News’ managing editor, joined THN in 2005 after covering the Jr. B Stratford Cullitons for a couple of seasons. The London, Ont., native graduated from the University of Western Ontario – where he did campus radio color commentary for both men’s and women’s hockey – with a Master’s in Journalism. He really, really hates the loser point.

In mid-December, Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller held the seventh edition of his Catwalk for Charity and raised nearly $125,000 for his Steadfast Foundation, which supports “year-round diversionary events and psychosocial programs” for children with cancer.

A stick-tap to him for his ongoing work, which has raised more than $1.1 million over the years. On a lighter note, we will forever be in Miller’s debt for this glorious photo that came out of the event, which features 6-foot-7 Tyler Myers and 5-foot-9 Tyler Ennis adorned in “Cirque du Sabres with a Masquerade Twist” attire.

Top 10 NHL goals of the year: Hertl through the legs or Chara spin-o-rama?

There were so many great goals this year it was difficult to whittle the must-see list down to a top 10. To keep it manageable, I omitted shootout goals and kept it to just the NHL, which kept my personal favorite – Jori Lehtera’s ballsy and hilarious move from the KHL All-Star Game – off the list for a couple reason. But here it is, anyway…
